i MUST SEE...

My One and Only starring: Renee Zellweger and Logan Lerman

(This is one film that I am NOT apologizing for seeing - it is seriously that GOOD.)

Anne Deveraux (Zellweger) never looked on the down side of life. Her moto is, "Thing always work out for the best." But, unlike his mother, George (Lerman), felt the strains of his mother's decision for an unsanctioned departure from New York.

Fleeing from the stress of the present, Anne decides to take a trip down memory lane in order to find her sons a wealthy father to provide for their mediocre descent into suburban living. Cruising through Boston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and finally Hollywood. All throughout this "family" trip, Anne tells George, "Never look in the rear-view mirror, it make no difference what's behind you."

But when family ties is broken in the realization that she knows nothing of her own son, Anne never thought she would be the one looking at the rear-view mirror to see the George decides to stay in St. Louis.

This film calls to those who have always felt like they're always running from something. It also calls for those who prefer the past rather than the present.

I love this film because it was so raw and distinctive. By "raw" I mean there's a real essence of truth in that there are always people who see things for what they are, and there are those who like to see the better in things. It's distinctive in the way it portrays issues like, betrayal, family ties, reality and optimism.

It's a great film for the family because it appeals to all kinds. Broken or whole, this film identifies with anyone whose ever been loved or is loved.

stricklyLEISURE rating: 5 stars.

Next on stricklyLEISURE: "3:10 to Yuma" starring Russel Crow, Christian Bale and (yes, I am eternally sorry) Logan Lerman.
