Timeline:
- Feb 12, 2010 - Birth of my review blog.
- 2010-2016 - Evolution from reviewing anything to just films.
- 2017-2018 - Hiatus, and honestly almost closing it down altogether.
- 2019 - Rebranding. I decided to turn it into a travel blog - we all know the irony here.
- 2020 - Nostalgic posting in a pandemic.
- 2021 - Covid Chronicles: a tribute to the new normal that came in 2020.
- 2022 - TBC
2010 - The Birth
strictlyLeisure was birth out of boredom and an outlet to tell the world my opinions about anything. Essentially, an 18-year-old just wanted to tell the internet that she was at Taylor Swift's Fearless concert and she loved it - hahaha!!!
2010-2015 - Review It All
The first five years of this blog were crazy. I was reviewing everything under the sun: live entertainment, television shows, films, and music. I was doing so much I didn't even realise how much I had done, seen and listened to until I looked at my archive list. So many many opinions, so little readership...but you're here, to thanks!
2016 - Unconcious Decision
Eventually, life caught up with me and this real-life Hannah Montana (teacher by day, reviewer in her spare time) suddenly moved from reviewing everything to just movies. But even with the change, it's a little surprising how many I was still able to watch.
2017-18 - No Opinions
Not really. I just went on hiatus because, like Miley, I had to choose life over the dream. I was so busy, my social life just needed a refocus and I needed to enjoy going to the cinemas again.
2019-2020* - To Delete or Not To Delete?
This Hamlet reference never fails when you're making a hard decision. But as my mouse hovered over the 'delete account' button I made another choice. I decided to rebrand and shift my interests to travel instead of films. This was short-lived.
*2020 - the borders may have been closed, but I had just started this blog and I had a lot to say about my recent travels, so I pre-blogged for the year as a form of catharsis.
2021 - Reflective Content
This is just for July-August. I decided not to go on another hiatus. Instead of opening a different blog that I would forget about, I thought I'd put it all in this one blog. After all, Covid-19 made us all redefine 'leisure' didn't it?
2022 - Unwritten
Who know's guys? Really, I'm not really planning anything anymore hahaha!
