Gaming with Logan Lerman (Forgive Me)

First of all, I am apologising in advanced for the next few films that I will be talking about, because they will have Logan Lerman in them. If you don't know who he is he's Percy Jackson in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The reason is, my sister is currently obsessed with him and has mentioned so many movies with so many different other actors that I thought I'd check the film out. I also officially started Uni today and realised that the path to becoming a director is hard...haha, but worth the trial. Why I mention that is, I read an article in Film Ink about Logan and how he's the new rising star. He was so humble and it turns out, he's an aspiring director too! So, yeah...maybe will see each other down the line. Who knows?

Anyway...I'm hear to talk about his movie "Gamer".

Gamer starring: Gerard Butler

Set in the distant future where the mere gaming console is a mere dream to the extreme gamer, this film divides the human world into three separate worlds. Focusing on the idea of humans controlling humans through chips implanted in their brains and slowly becoming part of the brain, Gamer brings forth the essence of total gaming experience.

The Worlds
  1. Society: A virtual SIMS-like feel where you create your character and associate with characters all over the world. It's literally a world where anything can happen. All played by actors or those looking for a way to pay the bills.
  2. Slayers: A deadly mix of death-row inmates in a real life Halo stimulation. Where survival becomes the only way out of the hell-hole.
  3. Reality: The gaming world, just like any internet web-cam or IM supported games, we see the faces behind the people who control the characters in Society and Slayers.

It's a film fighting to battle the reality that hidden behind the lies of escapism. Where right must triumph over wrong or it comes at a deadly consequence - literally or psychologically. Following the rise and fall of the top gamer, Simon Silverton (Lerman), and his success of controlling in-mate, "Kable" (aka. John Tillman) all the way to the 27th level. With 3 levels left to go, a rebel group decided to give Tillman the ultimate gift: freedom.

But first, Tillman has to overcome the control of their puppet-master.

I liked this film. I thought it was really clever. But it is really dirty and gory - so be warned. I thought it was really well made with all the graphics and how the worlds intertwined. I have nothing much to say about it, because it's really a movie for guys. It'd be a family movie too I suppose if it didn't have so much sex and human bodies being blown up... (:P)

stricklyLEIRSURE ratting: 3 Stars.

Next on stricklyLEISURE: TBA (Uni comes first.)
